Seniors (U-15)

Sean Ivery

Coach Sean Ivery has been involved with lacrosse for most of his life and was a three time varsity letter winner at
Syracuse’s Christian Brothers Academy.  He started his college lacrosse at LeMoyne College and moved to Boston College. During that time, Coach Ivery was also active as a summer lacrosse camp counselor and referee for youth lacrosse leagues in the Syracuse
area.

Coach Ivery moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1996 and took an extended leave from the game.  He soon realized that there was a major thing missing in his life and sought out a way to get back involved with the game that he loves.

He has been involved with the SFYLC Quakes since 2005 and started coaching the Senior U-15 in 2007.  The 2008 U-15 team was the silver medal winner in the Northern California Junior Lacrosse Association B2 league.  Coach Ivery believes in focusing on getting players at this age level comfortable with their fundamental lacrosse skills so they can react instinctually in game settings.

Bantam (U-9)

Mike Gerrity

Coach Mike Gerrity grew up in Colorado just as lacrosse was starting its boom in the state.   He picked up his first stick in a sandlot game in 8th grade and was hooked. Mike went on to play midfield for 4 years at Cherry Creek High School and earned All-State Honors in his senior year.  Mike continued his career playing club lacrosse at the University of Pennsylvania.

In 2008 Mike was thrilled to pick up a stick again to teach the game to his two sons and their friends.  He started an after school lacrosse clinic to introduce the game to a small group of 6 and 7 year old boys and formed a U9 team that played games against other North Bay clubs.  Mike decided to team up with SFYLC for the 2010 season and will be coaching the club’s inaugural U9 team.  Mike focuses on teaching lacrosse basics, having fun and is looking forward to his first season with the Quakes.
