| Parent Volunteers |
|
There is a lot involved in running a successful lacrosse program and parents are an integral part of our organization. We ask for volunteers for both the season and during home games. Some of the opportunities are: Team Parent – The main role of the team parent is to be a main Score Keeper – We are required to provide a Score Keeper for each home game. This requires coming to game at least 30 minutes early, and keeping track of both teams’ rosters, scores, saves, and penalties during the game. Knowledge of lacrosse rules is not a requirement but does help. Time Keeper – We are also required to provide a Time Keeper for each home game. This requires keeping the time for each quarter as well as penalties. Clocks are provided and we can review the timing requirements before each game. Referees – We are looking for parents or former players to consider being trained as referees. Formal classroom and field training is provided prior to the season. Referees are asked to make a commitment of ten games per season and are paid per game. Most teams play concurrent games so referees can often officiate multiple games per day.
SFYLC has an excellent tradition of parent participation and support. We look forward to that continued support and appreciate everyone’s efforts. |
